Perhaps the best Rangers line ever was at the height of its powers by the team’s third season. In 1928-29, the Bread Line of Cook, Boucher and Cook combined for 38 of the Blueshirts’ 72 goals, helping the Rangers reach a second straight Cup Finals.

One of the reasons the Rangers became so popular so quickly with New Yorkers was their instant success after entering the league in 1926. By the end of their second NHL season, they were Cup champions, thanks in part to Lester Patrick’s heroics.
