Rangers forward Ryan Callahan was a featured guest at the 2009 Rangers Youth Hockey Camp. During his time at the Training Center, he told Rangers on Demand about his own youth hockey years and offered some advice to NHL hopefuls.

The U.S. Under-20 team came up short in a 6-4 loss to Russia on Friday night in Lake Placid, but Rangers prospect Derek Stepan remained one of the team’s hot players. Stepan had two assists, bringing his series total to six points in three games.

Ryan Bourque, the Rangers’ 2009 third-round draft pick, contributed a goal Tuesday night as the U.S. Under-20 team defeated Russia 8-1 in the first of four games at Lake Placid. Derek Stepan, the Rangers’ 2008 second-round pick, had an assist.

European preseason action continued Tuesday, which included the KHL preseason debut of Rangers 2009 seventh-round pick Mikhail Pashnin (above). The day’s big scorer was 2006 Blueshirts draftee Lukas Zeliska, who had a pair of goals.

In less than month, a team of Rangers prospects will be wearing their Blueshirts in the annual Traverse City (Mich.) Prospects Tournament. This tournament typically gives players like Michael Del Zotto (above) their very first taste of the NHL lifestyle.
